Tougher Minds has featured in the latest edition of the Times Educational Supplement (TES).
Head of Education, Andrew Foster, was asked to contribute a feature length article to the respected weekly publication. The article in question focussed on one of Tougher Minds’ various education programmes.
The piece, published last Friday (30 Jun), outlined the Tougher Minds school transition programme which supports young people when they face the often problematic move into Year 7. It also explains more about how Tougher Minds uses insights into young people’s brain function and behaviour to deliver targeted training programmes. These have been shown to have a hugely positive impact on pupils’ well-being and performance.
Andrew Foster also explained how Tougher Minds Founder and Managing Director Dr. Jon Finn used his extensive research into the psychology of transitions, in both professional sport and education, to develop many of the techniques that are found within this and the consultancy’s other programmes for schools.
The article gives more information about how parents and teachers are also involved in the training, and explains how the proprietary Tougher Minds Performance Planner is being used in many schools, to improve key habits for young people such as sleep, diet and exercise.
The current edition of TES featuring Tougher Minds is still available now. You can also subscribe to the digital edition.
Tougher Minds also works with schools in key areas of education including GCSE and ‘A’ Level exam preparation, broader well-being and resilience training and programmes to enhance schools’ pastoral care. You can find out more here.
