Phil Garner has been a head teacher of both state and independent schools for over 20 years and he is passionate about how students learn, their learning preferences, how they study most effectively and how they achieve the highest possible learning outcomes.
He has spoken at educational conferences throughout the UK, USA and Canada and he leads training
courses on boys’ learning, student engagement and motivation.
Phil was the founding head of Newcastle School for Boys and he was a founding director of the West Newcastle Academy. Phil works with students throughout the country, who are considering
undergraduate study in the USA, preparing them for the SAT entrance tests and the detailed application process. He has taught in high schools in the USA.
Phil graduated from University of Birmingham, studied for a Diploma in Education at Carnegie College of Physical Education and gained his Master’s degree from University of Bristol.
