What just happened?

Science shows that at least 98% of our behaviour is unconscious or mindless. In other words at least 98% of what you think and do is a habit. For example, you do not read words consciously letter by letter. Once you have learned how, reading becomes a habit.

  • The problem?

Humans are designed to survive – we have been on the planet for over 300,000 years. Many of our instinctive survival habits are not compatible with the challenges we face in the modern world.

For example, our instinct to save energy means that we procrastinate. Our instinct to fit in means that we can worry too much about what other people think, and beat ourselves up. The more we practice these bad habits, the more unhelpful they become. Below are some examples of habits that stop us being our best…

  • Give in to temptation

  • worry

  • give up

  • getting stressed

  • Example Unhelpful Habits

  • procrastination

  • jump to conclusions

  • beating yourself up

  • Disengaged, unmotivated & unfocused
    Disinterested

    High levels of stress

    Mental health challenges
These unhelpful habits are the biggest barrier to people fulfilling their potential.

    Feeling burned out & unwell
    Can't think clearly or cleverly

    Worry & Dwell on negatives

    Beat yourself up
